Washing Instructions

All e-cloth ® cloths and mop pads can be washed in your washing machine with low lint items (like jeans). Cold water will work, but hot water is recommended to allow the fibers to open and release dirt and grease.

From cleaning furniture in your formal dining room to the casual furniture in rec rooms, e-cloth is well adapted to expertly clean and polish all types of furniture surfaces. Due to the special long, soft fibers that draw and hold dust, pollen, dirt, grease, oil and bacteria, you’ll find it coaxes grime from nooks and crannies that normal cloths don’t reach. Best of all, e-cloth cleans without the use of any chemicals. (Not for use on electronic screens and delicate lenses.)

Cleaning versatility that’s easier –excellent on soft and hard woods, bamboo, steel, glass, chrome, granite, leather, plastic and MDF – throughout the home, and in the office. e-cloth’s fiber function makes cleaning faster and easier.
Cleaning naturally, healthier – there are no harmful chemicals or fumes because e-cloth uses fiber function to clean – not a chemical reaction. The cleaned surface e-cloth leaves behind has no chemical residue.
Cleaning that’s money-saving – never any cleaning chemicals to buy, and there are years of cleaning performance in each e-cloth (performance is guaranteed for 300 machine washings).

What Does Kate Like About this Cloth?

I'll be honest, I don't often use this cloth for dusting.  I prefer the Dusting Cloths because they seem to pick up more dust and are cheaper. But, I do like this cloth for:

  • damp dusting (you can't use the other dusting cloths damp)
  • the longer fibers on one side - they reach into the cracks/crevices of woodwork
  • dusting baskets - this cloth seems to "snag" less on woven baskets

For non-dusting jobs:

  • the longer fibers make it more absorbent than the General Purpose cloth so it's great for sopping up spills
  • I really like it for cleaning out the cupholders in my car. It picks up all the gunk and crumbs that seem to stick to that rubber thing at the bottom of the cupholder.

Which is better for dusting: This cloth or the Dusting Cloths?

I prefer the Dusting Cloths.  They seem better at picking up regular household dust, dander and pet hair. BUT some people seem to prefer this cloth for dusting window blinds and screens. Also, the High Performance cloth may be preferred for shiny or highly finished surfaces as it will remove fingerprints. The Dusting Cloths won't do that.

Note: the dusting cloths can NOT be used damp, but this one can.

How is this Different from the Dusting Cloths?

The High Performance cloth is a polyester/polyamide mix and has longer fibers on one side.  It can be used damp, is very absorbent and will clean fingerprints from shiny or finished surfaces.

The Dusting Cloths are 100% polyester, which provides a natural static charge to attract dust.  They are fantastic dusters but can only be used dry and will not remove grease or fingerprints from surfaces.

How is this Different from the General Purpose Cloth?

The High Performance cloth is essentially the same as a General Purpose Cloth except that it has longer fibers on one side.  The longer fibers make it more absorbent and better suited to dust into cracks and crevices than the General Purpose cloth.

How to Use the High Performance Dusting & Cleaning Cloth

Cleaning really doesn't get easier than this!

  1. For dusting, use the cloth dry. Fold it in half and then in half again and then just start dusting. As one side gets full, flip to another side. When you're done, brush the cloth off and you can use it again!
  2. For most other cleaning, I recommend using the High Performance e-cloth damp (or spray the surface with water and wipe with the cloth)
  3. You'll feel the cloth drag a bit over dirty areas. Continue wiping gently until the cloth no longer drags.
  4. This e-cloth will leave some moisture behind which may result in waterspots or streaks. If these concern you - particularly on shiny surfaces like windows/mirrors, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, glass cooktops, etc. - I recommend following up with a Glass & Polishing cloth.

NOTE: If streaks are left behind, your General Purpose ecloth is either too wet or it is removing old cleaner residues. If you've used chemical/commercial cleansers/polishes for cleaning in the past (particularly on your stainless steel appliances or wooden furniture), you may have to wipe several times with the General Purpose e-cloth to remove the spray residue. But stick with it! Your house, furniture and appliances will be cleaner than it ever was before!

Absolutely useless, unless you consider moving the dust from one area of your cabinet to another, useful.

This dusting cloth is the bomb! I use it wet to clean our six-panel doors and furniture, and it gets into the corners better than any other cloth I've tried. Sometimes I have to use a soft wet toothbrush to get way into the corners, but then a final wipe with the cloth is all that's needed to finish the job. Thanks so much for the information that helped me choose this cloth.
